NOTABLE PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Soror Foster served as Chief Diversity Officer for United Way Worldwide, the world’s largest charitable organization. She founded the annual convening of United Way staff of color which focused on career advancement that continued for 25 years. She served as a senior member of the team that launched and supported the creation of United Ways in Africa – Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa – as a Senior Vice President for United Way Worldwide. She also served as Interim Chief Operating Officer for United Way of the National Capital Area (DMV) during a time of major transformation and media challenge.
NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS CHAPTER PRESIDENT:
Under her administration, NoVAC won Alumnae Chapter of the Year, as well as the first-ever Newsletter Award (no longer given) for the South Atlantic Region. Four strategic chapter goals with measurables were established and the chapter’s website and chapter logo, still being used by NoVAC today, were designed. NoVAC’s first-ever electronic voting during elections was conducted.
NEW PROGRAMS OR INITIATIVES IMPLEMENTED:
Project Esther was implemented under her administration. She aligned the chapter’s committee structure with national initiatives by creating International Awareness and Economic Development Committees. She also planned NoVAC’s second international chapter trip to Ghana, Africa that took place in 2011. She created the Delta eGram and initiated the first use of Constant Contact to enhance chapter communications.
